Our client is one of the top ten New Zealand law firms and they are looking to appoint an AML Compliance Officer who is legally qualified, and who preferably has experience working in a private practice law firm. This role is a fixed term contract to cover parental leave for 12 - 18 months. For the right candidate our client would consider someone who is looking to work school hours. A strong academic record is a must and it would be advantageous to have AML experience.
Some of the responsibilities attached to this position would include assisting with the maintenance of the firm's AML risk assessment and programme and carrying out AML obligations including customer due diligence, suspicious activity reports and ongoing training, annual reporting and auditing obligations.
The successful candidate must present as professional and be a strong team player. It is imperative you possess outstanding communication skills as there will be constant interaction with both internal and external clients.
