At Ando, we’re taking a fresh approach to the way insurance works in New Zealand. We’re looking for a motivated and qualified Management Accountant to support the ongoing growth and success of our business. The position is hands-on, involving financial and management accounting tasks.
You will have a passion for data, finding patterns and possibilities that drive commercial outcomes. On top of that you enjoy people: networking and engaging to understand what’s happening in the broader business.
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, tasks will include (but not limited to) the following responsibilities:
- Review and report on monthly management accounts;
- Assist in preparation of budgets, forecasts, and daily/weekly/monthly cash flow forecasting;
- Monthly maintenance of our rolling 12-month forecasts;
- General ledger management including reviews of journals/accruals prepared by an Accountant;
- Oversee creditor payments and intercompany transfers;
- Review of bank reconciliations;
- Ensure month-end runs smoothly;
- Board Reporting and provision of other analytical reports as required;
- Preparation of accurate and timely financial and management reporting,
- Overseeing all taxes;
- Overseeing and further developing company’s financial and IT systems;
- Ensuring appropriate financial controls and reporting protocols are in place and adhered to;
- Monthly dashboard reporting;
- Driving Ando external and internal audits.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- ACA, CA or CPA qualification;
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Management Accounting and Reporting;
- Highly advanced in Excel (pivots, all formulas, understanding of models’ structures);
- Previous background working in a commercial environment in New Zealand;
- Experience in financial accounting and audits;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
- Excellent time management, ability to prioritise and work in a busy environment;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Enthusiasm and commitment to make a difference and add value.
