The successful applicant will ideally be:
- Experienced with Legal Aid billing and applications
- Have experience with and knowledge of preparing legal documents particularly property, civil matters, trusts and wills and family law
- Organised and able to show initiative/prioritise work
- Comfortable working with computers and accurate typing skills
- Confident and professional interacting with clients and other professionals
Responsibilities include co-ordination of work flow between authors, and with others in office as required as well as:-.
● Handling all routine telephone and personal contact with clients.
● Dealing with outside agencies, obtaining information or instigating needed action.
● Preparing and amending statements and GST invoices as required for private clients and Legally Aided clients. Reconciling client accounts.
● Responsibility for FLAS and Legal Aid clients including interviewing, documentation, billing and file management.
● Share general office and reception duties with Property Assistant. (Office comprises 6 lawyers, 3 legal executives, accountant, 2 assistants).
Our hours of work are 8:30 - 5:00 (1 hour lunch) Monday - Friday.
