With the Head Office located in Hamilton, and due to growth of the Company, we have this rare opportunity available. This newly created position is a 12 months fixed term part-time position for 16 to 24 hours per week, with flexible working days / hours and this can be negotiated to suit the right candidate.
We are seeking an enthusiastic person with legal expertise to work closely with the Senior Management team to primarily assist with commercial matters, including drafting, interpreting and negotiating leases, but also other legal issues as they arise.
Key responsibilities within the position will include:
- Managing all new leases, renewals, rent reviews and negotiations
- Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and assisting with contract negotiations
- Assistance with drafting employment contracts and related documents
- Advising on employment issues
- Reviewing credit applications
- Assisting with any capital transactions, including due diligence and contract drafting and review
- Assist with annual company audit as required
Successful candidates will ideally possess:
- A relevant legal tertiary qualification
- A current NZ practicing certificate as a Barrister or Solicitor
- 3+ years’ experience at a law firm (PQE)
- Experience in drafting and reviewing leases
- Experience in advising on a wide range of legal matters
- Experience in drafting commercial contracts
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
