It is rare for us to be recruiting for a junior level role, particularly for such a sought-after firm. They are looking for a talented lawyer to join their excellent commercial team. Crucially, you will have plenty of day-to-day contact with partners who have a proven track record of training and mentoring new members of the team.
There are two partners, each with a slightly different focus, creating a broad corporate commercial practice. Clients come from a range of industries including technology, media, retail, logistics, fishing and biotechnology, from start-ups to international companies. As a result the work covers a wide range of issues, agreements and deals. The expectation for this role is that you will develop particular M&A expertise and you should be enthusiastic about the opportunity to build your knowledge in this area.
The pace and expectations of the team mean that you are likely to have trained in the commercial area at a large firm. There is a commitment to quality in this close-knit, supportive team environment, so you can rest assured that training would be second to none. The role needs at least one year PQE and a strong academic background, with at least a B+ average.
