BROKER RELATIONSHIP SUPPORT (BRS)

 We are seeking an energetic, capable and detail orientated administrator, ideally with commercial general insurance underwriting experience, to join our busy Broker relationship support team.

This position is to provide additional administrative, sales and PA support for one of our Broker Relationship Managers (BRM) whose regional activity is growing at a rapid pace.

You will be based in our new central Hamilton office with other broker relationship and underwriting team members who will assist and support you with training and advice.

Key tasks will include:

  • Working alongside the current BRS providing support for your allocated regional BRM helping with administration, travel, accommodation, diary and appointment management, email correspondence and enquiries
  • Liaise between your BRM and company underwriters to assist the rapid flow of new and renewal business quotations, including setting up and producing quotes in a timely manner
  • Administration and underwriting of renewal business
  • Introduce and implement improved processes for efficient and accurate time management
  • Liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders as required and handle general enquiries and requests on behalf of the Broker Relationship Manager
  • Assist in general business development or other Company matters when required
  • Complete all standard and any ad hoc compliance and other reporting requirements in a timely and complete  fashion
  • Co-operate with and communicate well with all Company staff for the benefit of the overall performance of the business
  • Create and maintain accurate records of role specific tasks

The successful applicant will, ideally:

  • Have commercial general insurance underwriting experience
  • Display excellent interpersonal skills and work well with a team
  • Possess business development and marketing skills
  • Maintain first class written, oral communication and numeracy skills
  • Be computer literate, especially in the use of  Microsoft Word, Outlook,  Excel and PowerPoint and general computer file management
  • Be able to prioritise activities and perform under pressure
  • Be organised, detail orientated and a fast learner
  • Have excellent listening and communication skills
  • Willingly adapt to the changing needs of the role and perform all tasks required with a positive and flexible attitude
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills
