About the role

We are currently looking for a self driven and passionate individual with the ability to make his/her energy levels contagious. Our ideal candidate enjoys working as part of a team who leads from the front. He/She is a well organised person who can manage several tasks or projects simultaneously.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and leading a team of 20, we are seeking an enthusiastic leader to manage the housekeeping department daily operations (briefings, department meetings, allocations, training, coaching, mentoring your staff, etc.) while delivering on our brand promise.

This is a very hands on role not suitable for the faint hearted! You will check the cleanness and thoroughly inspect guest rooms and public areas consistently at a high standard.

You will be responsible of meeting the departmental targets (productivity, wage cost, engagement, etc.).

You are a natural leader who makes decisions for your department.

You are diplomatic when you are in problem solving mode and seek for win-win outcomes.

You are a role model for your team, have excellent communication skills and the cultural awareness to manage a diverse workforce.

You are curious and innovative when seeking new ways to complete your daily tasks.

Skills and experience

  • Proven experience (minimum 2-3 years) of supervisory skills and experience
  • Hospitality Management Qualifications are an advantage, however not necessary.
  • Knowledge of Opera or similar PMS is desired
  • A proven ability to meet cleaning, quality and brand standards
  • Flexibility to work over some weekends
  • Immaculate personal presentation
  • Proficient English language communication –both verbal & written.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
