About the business and the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen! The Chateau Tongariro Hotel is offering an opportunity of a lifetime. A chance to live and work within our beautiful surroundings, right in the heart of the Tongariro National Park. We are seeking experienced Chef de Parties who is able to deal with our fast paced environment and join the ranks of our experienced and efficient team!
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Preparation and service of the Set Menus and A la Carte Menus.
- Prepares, mis en place and replenish food stocks ensuring proper food storage and sanitation.
- To work at all times giving regard to the cleanliness and hygiene of the utensils and equipment in the kitchen.
- Assist in Training of all Apprentices and Demi Chefs. Be able to verify daily tasks are carried out to Cookery training standards.
- Preparation of cakes, pastries and desserts.
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a real passion for cooking and an eye for detail
- Handles and thrives under pressure
- Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to food safety
- Endeavours to improve customer service
- Must be willing to learn as much as possible.
- Proven experience in pastry, cakes, and desserts
- Currently a Chef de Partie, with more than 2 years experience
- Only candidates with Citizenship, Residency or Valid Work Visa will be considered.
