Based at Naumi Auckland Airport Hotel, you will report to the Regional General Manager of Australia & New Zealand with a functional reporting line through to the Group CFO based in Singapore.  You will lead the development and implementation of the annual business and financial plans, and overseeing all finance functions across the ownership and management companies.

Your part to play…

  • Create the annual operating budget for the NZ assets and operating companies, providing analytical support throughout budget reviews, identifying revenue enhancement, cost saving and productivity opportunities in all areas of the business
  • Prepare all relevant monthly financial reports for the owners and communicate effectively with our owners, CFO and Regional General Manager
  • Support our management teams, assisting them in driving  effective sales and revenue management strategies to achieve financial goals
  • Oversee the preparation and then review monthly financial statements, management reports and forecasts, providing on going analytical support in monitoring operational departments actual and projected revenue ensuring that goals are met and opportunities are identified and addressed
  • Manage property working capital and cash effectively in accordance with operating guidelines and owner requirements
  • Identify key projects, seek approval and manage related capital expenditure funds for implementation of brand initiatives, product improvement, increased revenue potential and/or long-term renovation/refurbishment plans
  • Keep abreast of the business environment and use financial analysis, data trends and market information to anticipate needs, identify operating/financial issues and recommend actions to maximise financial return
  • Analyse financial data and market trends and produce accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to business changes and facilitate effective meetings to review information with property managers and management team. Provide all stakeholders with forecast information in a timely manner
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of all statutory accounting and tax reports for various governmental agencies
  • Put in place appropriate controls to manage business risks. Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets
  • Ensure compliance is maintained in accounting and self-audit principles and policies
  • Develop and conduct the financial audit plan, communicate results and make recommendations
  • Execute all contracts and legal agreements, ensuring that all terms and conditions are complied with
  • Maintain accurate records through all acquisitions and disposal of hotel assets as necessary
  • Develop and implement  an effective centralised procurement function
  • Continually seek improvements in the use of financial results, effective cost management and revenue enhancements
  • Oversee re-valuation reports for each asset
  • Establish healthy working relationships with auditors, bankers, legal advisors and provide sound advice to owner
  • Assist the owner/CFO in merger and acquisition projects in New Zealand including gathering and analysing information, conducting financial due diligence and projections

A bit about you!

  • Understanding of New Zealand accountancy
  • Ideally (but not essential) you will have worked in the hotel or property sector
  • Degree in Accountancy / Finance with a least 15 years of senior management  experience in Hospitality or related industry
