COMMIS CHEF - PERMANENT AND CASUAL OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE

Te Papa stands proud as an iconic national building housing the treasures of the nation and is a vibrant destination for both national and international visitors.  Icon Venues is an operational function of the Commercial Directorate of Te Papa.

Te Papa is looking for qualified chefs who take pride in their work, enjoy a fast paced environment and understand food hygiene and preparation principles.    If you take pride in the food that you prepare and serve, are a great team player, enjoy hospitality and want to take up the challenge of working in a high volume environment, then this is the job opportunity for you.

Ideally you will have:

• A minimum 1 year of experience working in a similar position
• Cooking/Chef Qualification 
• The ability to work under pressure
• Organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work according to agreed targets and urgent demands
• The ability to create a positive team environment
• The ability to work alone or as part of a shift team
• Preferably experience in a multi outlet hospitality operation, from restaurant to function catering, working in a large kitchen brigade.

We operate 7 days a week therefore your flexibility to work over a 7 day roster including Public Holidays and weekend work are essential criteria for suitability.  Along with Te Papa's cafes and on-site function venues, we operate restaurants and café outlets at Parliament, Circa Theatre and other venues, therefore we are seeking crew members who can be flexible in their work location.  The work across our operation is busy, fast paced and in a fantastic, friendly team environment, so come join us!
