Guest Services Manager:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Guest Services Manager in our innovative, growing company. This permanent full time position requires a positive and energetic individual to continue to add value and growth to our business and working relationships, based in stunning Queenstown.

Position summary:

The basic function of the Guest Service Manager is to ensure that all aspects of Guest Services, Merchandise, and Photography are running smoothly, efficiently and operational improvements are being identified and implemented to ensure ongoing improvement.

To be successful the candidate must have previous management experience within the tourism or hospitality sector, outstanding people skills and strive for excellence in everything they do

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years management experience
  • Qualification in first line management or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in the travel and tourism industry
  • Exemplary organisational and time-management skills
  • Minimum of intermediate computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Open Office and other systems
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form
  • Positive attitude and ability to work productively and effectively with other staff
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experienced in booking system trouble shooting
  • Previous experience of Zipline operations preferable
  • Have an understanding of the Health and Safety in Employment (Adventure Activities) Regulations 2011

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback to GS staff (both constructive criticism and positive feedback) in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of the Guest Services team.
  • Lead by example, following proper systems and procedures
  • Support the management team, putting team objectives above personal objectives and creating a working environment in which all staff feel empowered and supported
  • Implement and document the following training programs: GS training, GS lead training, photography system training, train the trainer
  • Work with general manager to set annual budgets in the retail sector of the business
  • set up new products, merchandise, photo sales, combos, discounts, promotion codes. Set up logins for all new employees
  • Ensure completion of performance reviews for all direct reports
  • Interview, train, motivate, supervise, and discipline (including termination within established guidelines) all direct reports.
  • Manage daily desk operations including: tour schedule, coordinating breaks throughout the day, addressing and following up any mistakes/issues at GS (both employee and work related), dealing with guest complaints.
  • Ensure that GS team are supported to provide the highest possible level of customer service and al elite guest experience.
  • Manage general office administration and maintain and control the business area (equipment, supplies, float, cleanliness etc)
  • Review tour inventory for upcoming week to ensure required staffing levels are met
