About the role
The person in this position is expected to become knowledgeable about our clients, business, strategy, products, services and competitive forces, particularly in the education industry.
Ideally, the successful candidate should be mature, people-oriented with good communication skills, and be able to take responsibility and initiate projects. Ideally you will have a solid knowledge of the local account system.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the fortnightly payroll function
- Managing the accounts and accounts receivable function
- Managing educational agents' commission
- Managing Public Trust Accounts as needed
- Banking reconciliation, Preparing GST and PAYE Return
- Liaison with external Chartered Accountant and auditors in completing audits
- Assisting in the tracking of student attendance and classroom timetables
- Maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing system
- Compile and analyse financial information
- Monitor and review accounting and related system report for accuracy and completeness
- Assisting with the administration of the Programmes e.g. IELTS, General English. This includes ensuring compliance (checking forms such as Public Trust/Information Forms/Student Insurance, checking student folders, teaching planning, assisting course evaluations etc.)
- Preparing the weekly sales report.
- Updating and managing the Daily Operations file, and the table of the existing class size at ICENZ.
- Office routine operations and general clerical work as needed, such as orders of stationery, copy paper, toilet paper etc.
- Providing administrative support for marketing staff (eg. issuing Offer of Place documents, handling student Insurance etc.)
- Be responsible for the Health and Safety
- Update and maintain school's WeChat platform and website regularly
- HR department duties- preparing contracts, set up new staff folder, follow up staff leave requirements etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Management
Skills and experience
Ideally we are seeking candidates with the following attributes:
- mature, people-oriented with good communication skills
- responsible around holding cash and protecting confidential information
- able to take responsibility and initiate projects.
- have a solid knowledge of the accounting system and environment in New Zealand.
- holds a New Zealand accounting related tertiary level qualification
- New Zealand drivers licence and own transport (requirement)
- has the right to work full-time in New Zealand (requirement)
- quick learner and ability to manage multiple tasks at any one time
- experienced in handling potential conflicts of interest
- MYOB proficient (requirement)
