The Mount Cook Lodge and Motels welcome both local and international guests to experience our unique environment and our aim is to build a team that can perform with poise and efficiency regardless of the volume of guests. Our busy Chamois Bar and Grill means that every day is different but our focus is always to greet our guests as they walk through the door with energy and enthusiasm.

What your day will look like

• Ensure the dining and bar areas are ready prior to opening and throughout service
• Providing exceptional service through your knowledge and passion for our products
• Handling guest inquiries and ensuring accurate orders for guests
• Use of our Point of Sale system, ensuring accurate transactions using both cash and EFTPOS
• Working in the Bar when required
• Maintaining stock, food and beverage items
• Working alongside the kitchen team to maintain a cohesive service
• Jumping feet first into the day and helping out wherever is needed

 About you

Our teams live and work together so it's important that you have a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the hospitality industry. While experience in a Food and Beverage environment is preferred, we provide training to ensure you're kept up to speed with our products, our services, our standards, and our expectations. You should be flexible with a can-do approach and looking to learn throughout your time with us. At the heart of our service, your ability to build rapport with our guests and share your knowledge and passion for the local surrounding area is the key to success.

• Applicants should be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, although assistance to obtain this may be provided for some roles.
• All positions at Aoraki Mt Cook Alpine Village Ltd have accommodation provided as part of our unique lifestyle package, with the weekly board & lodgings rates including three meals a day and power. Due to the idyllic, isolated location of Mt Cook, you will need to be comfortable working and living in a remote location.
