About the opportunity
Based in Ashburton and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Chief Financial Officer is actively involved in all strategic level decision making. With accountability to support long-term sustainable and profitable business performance; the mandate of the Chief Financial Officer spans leadership of financial reporting, business planning, treasury and risk management and supports broad operational initiatives.
The Chief Financial Officer will take a leadership role in driving profitable business performance by:
- Participating as an active member of the Leadership Team and contributing to the development and implementation of commercially astute and innovative business and functional strategies;
- Providing strong leadership to the team of direct reports; inspiring high performance, creating engaged individuals and teams and driving results;
- Supporting the consideration of business opportunities and assets;
- Ensuring the organisation is in a position to meet all of its statutory obligations; and
- Championing the organisation’s approach to business planning, reporting and risk management.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled financial professional, a Chartered Accountant and ideally you would have developed your commercial accounting career across a range of industries and organisation types. A strong leader and proven executive; you will inspire performance in your team and confidently contribute to discussions with wide ranging strategic and operational impacts with the Board, Chief Operating Officer and your colleagues. A strong communicator with the ability to influence outcomes; you will understand the importance in developing effective stakeholder relationships inside and external to your organisation.
