About the role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Junior Sous Chef to join our crew! You'll assist in the management of the kitchen, including menu planning, costing and organising special events. You'll be responsible for developing new dishes and maintaining high food quality standards.This role requires the ability to work a flexible day schedule including weekends and/or holidays. 

 

Duties

  • Manage day-to-day kitchen activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Educate and train team members in compliance with brand and service standards, and governmental regulations. Ensure staff have the tools, training, and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Ensure that all menu items are prepared and presented according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in the development of menu design and concepts for all food and/or bar outlets, and catering events.
  • Champion HACCAP procedures, policies, regulations and monitoring completion of all workflow obtaining to CCP's and cleaning checklists.
  • Demonstrate a sound awareness of OHS&W policies and procedures and ensure the dissemination of information to all team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Skills & experience

  • At least 4  years' experience as a chef
  • At least 1 years' experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts
