ABOUT THE COMPANY 

Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, and specialised mental health services, for the upper South and lower North Islands, a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists. 

CCDHB operates two hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kapiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are looking for an experienced surgical nurse with a special interest in Women's Health.

We are a small ward specialising in Gynaecology Oncology and Gynaecology.  Elective surgery is carried out within approximately 10 operating sessions per week. We undertake obstetric (up to 20 weeks) and gynaecology acute assessments out of hours and weekends on the ward.

We have a very strong team culture, which commits to provide person/family centred care, using current evidence to assist people to achieve their optimum health. We actively encourage and support professional development. 

We work 8 hour rostered and rotating shifts.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have current APC 
  • Must have current New Zealand Work Visa
  • Must be Proficient on PDRP
  • Minimum 3 years experience
