We are working with our client to find a superstar accountant! Our client is growing rapidly and they need another member to join a team of fun, hard-working, and creative people. This is definitely not an opportunity to be missed.
  
Our client is within the property and retail sector and provides bespoke design and project management initiatives to create fit-outs for exciting commercial and retail spaces.
 
Your role as the financial manager is to ensure that all financial systems are accurate and up to date. You are someone who has a keen eye for detail when it comes to numbers and can plan and adapt systems and processes for continuous improvement. You also don’t take yourself too seriously and enjoy bonding with the team outside of work.

You’ll be involved in all financial aspects of the business. Your key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the accounts receivable and payables are in order
• Payroll
• All taxation obligations such as GST, PAYE and FBT are in line
• Annual accounts are prepared for the management team
• Preparing other financial reports and modelling

This is a varied and busy role that will suit someone who thrives on solving problems, loves variety and working at a fast pace. You’ll need to have a bubbly personality and excellent communication skills as you’ll be working across the business with colleagues from other departments, key stakeholders, and upper management.
 
Your flair:

• Have you worked for a small and fun company before, and want to take the next step?
• Strong experience with Workflow Max and Xero is essential. 
• Familiarity with New Zealand accounting principles including tax and accounting standards.
• You are CPA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA qualified that puts you at an advantage.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Work independently and take ownership.
• Results focussed.

About you:
 
To succeed in this role, you will excel at problem-solving and working under pressure to tight deadlines. You also understand that things aren’t always clearly black or white and have the ability to work within the grey without any issues.
  
You are confident in your decision making, can build rapport with others and work well in a team or independently. You’re proactive and take initiative and are a critical thinker. You have excellent planning and time management skills and a high attention to detail. You’ll be invested in the company with commercial awareness and the value your role can add.
 
Experience with a financial accounting system is must, especially if you have worked with a system like Xero or similar.
Ultimately, as the company accountant will be ensuring the smooth running of the finance area whilst continually improving its function to support day-to-day operations.
