Detail information about job Quality & Education Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Unique Mobile Surgery Service
  • Teach, influence and manage
  • Location ideally Christchurch, travel required

Mobile Health is a privately-owned company that works in partnership with the Ministry of Health, District Health Boards and other providers to deliver low risk elective day surgery to rural New Zealanders. Operating since 2002, the mobile surgical bus travels on a five-week cycle around the whole country.  Mobile Health provides a clinical nurse leader and anaesthetic technician for each week-long run. Surgeons and Anaesthetists are sourced according to location and clinical specialty, while each day 4 local rural Nurses complete the theatre team.

The Opportunity:

We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Theatre Nurse to join the team and lead the quality management for Mobile Health Services along with the delivery of rural health education programmes and staff training.  This position is in Christchurch, but at times you will need to be available to travel throughout New Zealand.

The Quality & Education Manager will be responsible for leading the quality assurance, including the delivery of the quality improvement plans and business improvement initiatives. Working as part of the Mobile Health team, this role works closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager, will have regular rostered surgical hours on the Bus and will deliver training to upskill the host-site clinical staff.

The role will then also lead the development of the rural health education programmes. Working with a range of third party presenters, to develop the content of the programmes, the focus is on ensuring the programmes are of high quality and the delivery is well planned and runs smoothly.

Qualification and Experience:

You will be a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years of theatre experience, ideally including roles involving teaching, influencing and managing people. You will have excellent communication skills, be well organised, and proactive and adept at problem solving. You will also be reasonably competent with computer systems. This challenging role will require someone that is innovative, thinks laterally and is resilient.
