The Role

Reporting to the NZ based manager, you will be part of a highly motivated and hardworking team whilst also being given the autonomy to maintain existing business as well as identifying and developing new sales opportunities.  This role will allow you to promote a competitive range of leading medical devices and surgical accessories into both public and private hospitals throughout the North Island and South Island.

 

Responsibilities

  • Interact and develop strong relationships with a diverse group of Stakeholders in the DHB and private hospitals; these include surgeons, registrars, theatre managers, nursing staff as well as procurement and finance professionals
  • Accountable for selling a range of products sold to surgeons in a highly technical and clinical benefit sell as well as some products where influence with theatre nurses who re-order is essential
  • Provide support intra-operatively for your products; a key skill is your ability to remain calm and unemotional whilst delivering technical advice and knowledge
  • Work in an environment where business acumen plus hard work is just as important as clinical knowledge and relationships, this means treating your territory like your own business – maybe late finish's or weekends or early starts on your territory. You do what it takes to get the job done and keep your customers happy
  • Regular reporting on the evolution of the sales, and adaptation to the circumstances of the market
  • Provide insight and plan for future business development
  • Work within a broader team to facilitate meetings and leads to protect and grow the brand

 

Skills & Experience

  • A track record of relevant theatre sales success
  • Understanding and knowledge of the DHB, procurement structures and processes and practices
  • The ability to form good relationships with both surgeons and nurses is a vital component to this role. You will need to be able to effectively and knowledgeably converse and articulate the issues relevant to the products
  • Business-focused mindset with a pragmatic approach and a strong results orientation
  • Ability to work independently, but you will be able to call on support as and when required

Reward

  • Base Salary $85,000 to $95,000 – Depending on your level of experience
  • Achievable commission OTE $25,000
  • Car allowance $20,000
