Due to a recent contract with Corrections we are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to be based at Springhill Corrections Facility in the Waikato.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • mental health assessments for those with mild to moderate mental health issues
  • intervention and assistance/advice with referrals to other agencies
  • working in partnership with individuals and probation staff you will develop a tailored individualised plan
  • working closely with the corrections staff providing expertise and knowledge to them in the workplace.

In order to be considered for this role, it is essential that you meet the following requirements:

  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand
  • Registered with a professional body covered by HPCA 2003 Act. A RN, OT or Clinical Psychologist/Psychologist or a Registered Social Worker
  • Hold a relevant health care degree level qualification which includes a current APC
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to undertake a comprehensive mental health assessment
  • Demonstrate ability to undertake appropriate interventions
