About the Role
We are currently on the lookout for a Community Registered Nurse to cover our nursing services in the Palmerston North Region on a 6 month fixed term contract. You will have your own case of clients with short to long-term care needs, primarily those recovering from illness or injury, older adult or disability (predominantly spinal cord or traumatic brain injury).
Your role will include on-site development of Service Plans, including household management, personal cares, risk assessment and management, manual handling, pressure area and medical plans and community linkages. Coordination and evaluation of care is ongoing, including Support Worker orientation, supervision, training and evaluation.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following
- A Registered Nurse with current APC and New Zealand experience
- Preferably up to five years post-graduate experience including two in the community, primary health, rehabilitation, disability or aged care sector
- Wound and catheter care experience
- Great communication and interpersonal skills - we value people skills and a passion for making a difference
- Proven skills in health assessment, planning and goal setting
- A commitment to quality
- A full Drivers License
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and the aged care/disability sector to maximise health outcomes and goal achievements for client’s and their families.
- Confidence in managing IT applications and the ability to report regularly on services provided and outcomes achieved.This role reports to the National Clinical Manager.
