ABOUT THE COMPANY 

Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, specialised mental health services and support a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists.

Mental Health and Addictions is a strong focus area for CCDHB.  We are looking for an experienced health or social sector programme manager to lead a small team to improve how our health system responds and meets the mental health and addiction needs of our population including their family and whanau.

You will have a strong focus on equity and integrating services to strengthen our responses to Māori and Pasifika families, those with disabilities and others who experience disadvantage.

This is a senior role reporting to the General Manager – Mental Health and Addictions. You will have experience in using planning and funding levers to improve health outcomes for people, and using information to manage performance and deliver outcomes for our population with mental health and addiction needs. You will enjoy working with senior health professionals and community leaders, be able to bring together people and information to achieve results.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful work programmes, programme management that focus on innovation and service change as appropriate and be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with providers and communities to facilitate performance and manage contracts. Familiarity with investment and commissioning approaches would be valuable. Health or social sector experience would be an additional asset.
