ABOUT THE COMPANY
Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, and specialised mental health services, for the upper South and lower North Islands, a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists.
CCDHB operates two hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kapiti Health Centre in Paraparaumu.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is your opportunity to gain employment in our dynamic Neurosciences Unit at Wellington Regional Hospital. This position will enable you to be at the forefront of an exciting and expanding clinical environment and will allow you to contribute to and engage in, on-going development of Neurosciences nursing skills, knowledge and practice.
The unit provides a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week service and our staff function on rostered and rotating shifts. We are currently recruiting for two part-time (0.8FTE) permanent positions and one part-time (0.7FTE) 12 month fixed term position covering parental leave.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We are looking for Registered Nurses with:
- Current Nursing Council of New Zealand Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
- Neuroscience experience (but not essential)
- 2 or more years acute care experience with proven skills in acute assessment
- Competence in cannulation and phlebotomy is also desirable
- The ability to work in a fast paced environment that values teamwork and dynamism
