Nelson Marlborough District Health Board (NMDHB) is the main health service provider for New Zealand's Nelson, Tasman and Marlborough regions, serving nearly 145,000 people across two hospitals, public health and a range of community services.

Working in a high performing team of motivated professionals, you'll be keen to contribute and have an innovative streak when it comes to spotting opportunities for service development. You'll be based in a teaching hospital, so you'll have plenty of scope to share your knowledge with younger staff, as well as develop your leadership skills.

You'll bring the following qualifications and experience:

  • FACEM, or equivalent, with vocational registration in New Zealand
  • Current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Ability to work independently as an ED specialist in a provincial hospital.

You'll work alongside a team of six other FACEM's building an environment of excellence. Our Emergency Department has 28,000 patient encounters per annum and performs highly against the Ministry of Health ED targets. There is a quality focus and teaching is a high priority. There are two ED registrars and a core of highly experienced registered nurses.

Situated near the top of the South Island, Nelson city is the geographical centre of New Zealand. It has three national parks within a 90 minute drive and is surrounded by beaches, mountains, hidden valleys, raging rivers and golden sands.
