Auckland PHO is a Primary Health Organisation with an enrolled population of 64,000 people and 24 general practices.  Together, with our General Practice teams, our aim is to provide innovative, collaborative and skilled health care that improves the health status of our enrolled population.

We are a small, energetic, vibrant and flexible health organisation with a professional culture. We are one of two PHOs in Auckland, funded by the Auckland District Health Board, based in Grafton.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Registered Nurse who can quickly build trusting relationships with Primary Care teams, clinicians and PHO staff who can assist and support our general practice network to achieve the quality improvement goals in the PHO’s Quality Improvement Plan. 

This is an exciting role for a registered nurse with experience in general practice who wants to use their skills and experience to:

  • Be the key point of contact for allocated Auckland PHO general practices to support their needs in delivering services in line with best practice, evidence based approaches and contractual obligations;
  • Provide support, guidance and expertise to general practice teams to facilitate achievement of System Level Measures;
  • Support general practice teams to achieve the RNZCGP Quality Standard Aiming for Excellence or Cornerstone Accreditation;
  •  Work with subject matter experts within Auckland PHO and with other partner organisations and stakeholders to identify issues and challenges as they arise and then address these proactively;
  • Lead the development of the practice nurse workforce, promoting ongoing education, peer groups and ongoing professional development options;

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • To be a registered nurse with an annual practicing certificate
  • General Practice/Primary care experience
  • Practice Management Systems experience – familiar with MedTech 32
  • Experience in achieving Cornerstone Accreditation
  • A current driver’s licence
