STOP’s Children’s Service is expanding and are seeking to employ a highly motivated professional, 32 – 40 hours per week, based in Christchurch.  The role involves delivery of therapy with the child in the context of their family, supporting schools in managing sexualised behaviour and working with other community agencies involved with the child.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes, skills and experience:

  • Be a passionate advocate for the safety and well being of children
  • Have proven therapeutic experience and skills in clinical work with children and families.
  • Experience in working alongside and supporting families in stressful situations
  • Ability to work closely with the child’s school and social systems
  • A recognised qualification in child psychotherapy, psychology, counselling, family therapy or equivalent. Social workers with clinical experience are welcome to apply
  • Have an understanding of trauma and attachment focused models of practice
  • A commitment to being part of a supportive and dynamic interdisciplinary team
