We're looking for a Manager for our Global Health team! The Manager, Global Health is the pivot point for the Ministry's international engagement and is responsible for overall management of the Ministry's interface with international organisations. Global Health is a busy and varied portfolio that works with colleagues across the Ministry, other Government agencies, the wider health system and beyond.
The Manager, Global Health is responsible for:
-
managing the Ministry's interface with international agencies such as the World Health Organization, OECD and APEC
-
providing strategic analysis and advice on international health matters
-
co-ordinating Ministry and cross-government input or involvement in international health matters, including briefing and logistical support for New Zealand participation in international health meetings, and
-
contributing to broader Protection, Regulation and Assurance objectives and wider Ministry objectives as required.
To be successful in this role you will need to maintain and build excellent relationships with a range of internal stakeholders including Ministers' offices, senior Ministry staff, and colleagues across the entire organisation. You will also need to maintain excellent relationships with external agencies including government ministries and international organisations.
You will need to be able to demonstrate expert interpersonal and communication skills, strategic agility, advanced risk management skills, political savviness, diplomacy and strong influencing skills. The ability to provide sound and clear policy advice is essential, as is experience in health policy and/or the health sector. You must also be able to work independently whilst recognising the importance of reflecting a ‘whole-of-Ministry' view.
