WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING.

As a Mental Health and Addictions Professional, you'll be offering crucial support to people who really need it. In this dynamic and diverse role, you'll be working in shifts to provide support across a range of essential services as part of the National Telehealth Service. That includes:

  • 1737
  • Alcohol & Drug Helpline
  • Gambling Helpline
  • Depression Helpline
  • The Lowdown

We are also looking for Professionals with a Sexual Harm (Trauma) focus to work on our Safe to Talk line.

 Your role and responsibilities:

  • Mental Health and Addictions support, including assessments, brief interventions, support planning, advice, referrals, risk identification and crisis management.
  • Communication with Service Users through phone, email, SMS and online chat.
  • Shift supervision, supporting and coaching Mental Health and Addictions Advisors and Senior Advisors

WHAT WE'LL NEED FROM YOU.

To carry out this role effectively, you'll need:

  • Completed qualification in relevant field e.g. counselling, addictions, psychology, psychotherapy, social work.
  • Registration with professional body: Addictions Practitioners' Association Aotearoa-New Zealand (DAPAANZ), New Zealand Association of Counsellors / Te Roopu Kaiwhiriwhi Aotearoa (NZAC), Regulated health professions: Psychology / Psychotherapy
  • 2 years' experience working in a Mental Health and Addiction role or Face to Face therapy

We are also recruiting for Mental Health Professionals with a Sexual Harm (Trauma) focus to work on our Safe to Talk line.
