Here at Timaru Hospital our Pharmacists do much more than dispense medicines. In fact, as an integral member of a broad multi-disciplinary clinical service team, you’ll enjoy active clinical involvement as a matter of course, plus have the luxury of time off to pursue other personal interests.

Our Pharmacy team is involved in the provision of clinical pharmacy services, medicines reconciliation, medicines information, patient counseling, on call services and inpatient and outpatient dispensing and you will become an integral member of the clinical pharmacy team.

The role also requires a high standard of pharmacy practice to oversee pharmacy operational duties including ward and theatre medication stock management, dispensing, non-sterile compounding, general dispensary and administrative duties.

You will be self-motivated, accountable, efficient, accurate and meticulous, a real team player with excellent customer service and communication skills. Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a busy community or hospital pharmacy. Newly qualified graduates will be considered. Hospital experience would be an advantage but it is not essential as training would be provided.

If you have excellent time management, planning, and organisational skills as well as having good communication skills, be a quick learner and be able to perform in an accurate and precise manner, then we look forward to your application. 

The successful applicant will be a New Zealand Registered Pharmacist, competent with TONIQ or a similar dispensing system along with basic ability in using the Microsoft Office suite.
