0.75FTE (60 hours per fortnight) Fixed Term Parental Leave Cover up to July 2019

Tauranga Hospital Speech and Language Therapy Department has an exciting opportunity for a full time Speech and Language Therapist to join our team to cover a parental leave role. The role will be predominately based with inpatients and community providing assessment and management of communication and swallowing disorders for children.

The position would suit a clinician with paediatric dysphagia training, clinical experience and VFSS skills.

You will need a sound knowledge of the use of informal and formal assessment tools, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work well within a team to achieve client and Whanau focused goals, and a focus on evidence based practice.

• to be eligible for New Zealand Speech Therapy Association (NZSTA) membership
• a Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Language Therapy from an NZSTA-accredited programme; or have had your qualifications approved by the NZSTA                                                                                                                         
• experience performing and interpreting video fluoroscopy swallowing studies
• experience working within a multi-disciplinary team working towards patient focused goals
• a current valid full New Zealand driver’s licence
