ABOUT THE SERVICE

Hutt maternity provides primary and secondary maternity care for about 1800 women a year in the Hutt Valley. We have a maternity assessment unit, run 6 antenatal clinics, a community midwifery team, an antenatal/postnatal ward and a birthing suite. 

Our unit is a women focused and midwife friendly Maternity unit. We are a team of midwives working together to develop new solutions for the provision of excellent maternity care.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

We have an exciting new opportunity to join a team of midwives who are evolving the delivery of an excellent birthing experience for those women that require operative births.

To enable our service to flex up when needed, we are trialling a team of four 0.5 FTE midwives who will work AM and PM shifts across our maternity floor from Monday to Friday with one or two on-call shifts per week. They will have a focus on enabling the timely provision of both elective and emergency caesarean sections, but the role will be sufficiently variable to enable the team to practice across their scope.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

You will need to be registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand or be eligable to apply and ideally have had some recent experience in a similar role.
