JOB TITLE: Healthcare Assistant (HCA)

Competitive Pay Rate plus 8% Holiday Pay - paid weekly!

Medacs Healthcare delivers staffing solutions to all three of Auckland’s District Health Boards and many of the Private Hospitals, as well as rest homes across Auckland. We can therefore offer you work when YOU want it making it fit your avaliability. Medacs Healthcare can offer you ad-hoc shifts, pre-bookings for a week or so in advance or a ‘line of work’ which could be from 3 to 13 weeks in duration…to ongoing!

Responsibilities:

As a Medacs Agency Staff member working within the acute setting of the public or private Healthcare system you will be responsible for:

  • Providing 1 on 1 care to patients
  • Assistance with personal day to day care ie; bed washes, toilet assistance
  • Catheter Care
  • Taking bloods and general observations as well as documenting them
  • Preparing patients for surgery
  • Restocking linen and supplies
  • Making beds, tidying patient rooms and theatres
  • Assisting with patient transfers
  • Assisting Nurses and Allied Health staff with procedures/ workload

Experience Needed:

  • Healthcare Assistant (Level 3 or Level 4) qualification with a minimum of 6 months recent experience
  • 2nd or 3rd Year Nursing Student
  • Able to nominate at least two senior references who you have recently worked
  • MUST have right to work in New Zealand
