Consultant Paediatrician ABOUT THE COMPANY Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. ABOUT THE ROLE An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced paediatrician to join our team in Wellington on a full-time basis. Wellington Hospital Children’s Health is a dynamic service and we are looking a fully trained and qualified paediatrician to join our collegial team. This role will have shared responsibility for managing a busy shared-care oncology service (with one other paediatrician) in consultation with the primary paediatric oncology centres in Christchurch and Auckland. Experience in oncology is desirable, but not essential. Experience in, or desire to develop, other sub-speciality areas of interest which would complement existing service provision would be welcomed. The successful candidate will participate in the general paediatric on-call roster (1 in 9) excluding neonatology. You will be a team player, clear communicator and someone who is willing and able assist with the supervision and instruction of junior medical staff within the service. An opportunity for a formal clinical leadership position may be available should the successful applicant be interested. You will have FRACP or equivalent specialist qualification in Paediatrics. Applications would be welcome from those holding MRCP, FRCP, MRCPI or FRCPI accompanied by CCST or CCT or Am Bd Cert, Paediatrics, but not exclusively so. Vocational Registration in Paediatrics with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), or for overseas candidate; qualifications, training and experience recognised by MCNZ as suitable for applying for vocational (specialist) registration as a Paediatrician in New Zealand. Training and experience in one or more sub-specialities of paediatrics is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for someone who wishes to develop skills in priority areas for child health.
