Forte Health is an innovative and exciting state of the art private surgical hospital in the centre of Christchurch.

We have 4 operating theatres, a spacious 12 bed recovery, 2 day-stay lounges and a 16 bed ward to accommodate overnight patients. We are currently expanding our services up to a 22 bed ward.
We have a robust Infection Prevention and Control programme embedded in the hospital. This is a key 0.5 FTE part time role in our organisation, working across all areas.
You will be responsible for the coordination and promotion of infection prevention and make a significant contribution as a member of the clinical team. You will be responsive to clinical demands and promote safe practice in infection prevention across the service delivery at Forte Health.
We require an individual who will commit to our culture of excellence and constantly look for ways to improve the existing IPC service and profile. We are keen to develop and support a beginning practitioner who is keen to progress their knowledge and experience within this role.

Essential requirements
- Registered Nurse with minimum 1 -2 years experience in Infection Prevention and Control
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
- Understanding, knowledge and experience of quality assurance practices.
- Intermediate IT skills
- An ability to effectively motivate and co-ordinate staff
- Recent relevant clinical surgical environment experience
- Experience and previous responsibility for driving quality improvements and improving clinical practice
Preferred requirements
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team member as the situation requires.
- Previous experience in the private sector would be an advantage
- Adult teaching and learning experience
