ABOUT THE COMPANY 

Capital and Coast DHB (CCDHB) is located centrally in Wellington and has the equivalent of around 4,300 full time staff, making us a major employer in the Wellington region. We are also the leading provider of a number of specialist services, including neurosurgery, oncology, neonatal intensive care, specialised mental health services and support a population of about 900,000 people. Our DHB has an annual budget of more than $1 billion, which we use to deliver health services directly and contract external providers to provide care, such as general practices, rest homes and pharmacists.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced health or social sector development manager to:

  • implement the Ageing Well Strategy (2017)
  • lead and support service improvement and innovation
  • support integrated primary, community and secondary health care
  • establish and maintain effective relationships with the sector

The System Development Manager will work collaboratively to ensure older people in CCDHB live well, age well and have a respectful end of life in age friendly communities.

You will have a strong focus on equity and integrating services to strengthen our responses to Māori and Pasifika families, those with disabilities and others who experience disadvantage.

This role reports to the Senior System Development Manager – Older Person. You will have experience in using:

  • planning and funding levers to improve health outcomes for people
  • information to manage performance
  • deliver positive outcomes for older people and their families.

You will enjoy working with health professionals and NGO’s, and be able to bring together people and information to achieve results.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing successful work programmes. You will be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with providers and communities to facilitate performance and manage contracts.

Familiarity with investment and commissioning approaches would be valuable. Health or social sector experience would be an additional asset.
