Our Department

The School of Physiotherapy Clinics provide services which advance, preserve and promote knowledge, critical thinking and autonomy of physiotherapy students in order to comprehensively meet the diverse current and future physiotherapy health care needs of the community.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist Clinician Educator for our clinic in Christchurch.

In this role, you will be supporting clients to return to pre-injury function and work. You will also be working with stakeholders and managing a client case load. Student clinical supervision and education is also included in this role. A car and laptop will be provided.

Objectives

  • Provide physiotherapy services and clinical teaching to a high standard.
  • Contribute to the School's academic goals by developing, applying and sharing expert clinical knowledge.
  • Provide leadership and development in areas of expertise.
  • Contribute to the team and the smooth running of the clinics.

Your Skills and Experience

  • You will be required to hold a Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board.
  • A strong background in Occupational Health together with postgraduate qualifications in this area and/or a willingness to undertake further training.
  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification at Masters or above, or working towards this.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Experience with liaising with clinical partners.
  • A full driver's licence.
  • Experience with supervision of students.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Ability to "think outside of the box".
  • Interest in Māori health and a commitment to Tikanga Māori.

The ability to work to time frames including goal setting and excellent written skills are essential.
