Child and Family Psychology Programme

  • Part-time at 18.75 hours per week

What You Will Do

The speciality of this Clinical Educator role is child and family psychology, equipping our students to succeed in real life clinical and community settings. You will be at the forefront of developing our student's practical skills, liaising with community agencies, organising student placements and contributing to community aspects of programme development. As this is a varied role, it will certainly provide you with new challenges and an opportunity to make a difference by helping shape the futures of psychology trainees and interns enrolled in this programme. There is also scope to be involved with colleagues in shaping the future of the Child and Family Psychology Programme which is an innovative programme which prepares graduates to work across sectors, as psychologists, with children and their families.

Who You Are

If you are a Registered Psychologist; are experienced in working with children and families; and have a genuine desire to pass knowledge on to Psychologists in training, we'd like you to be part of this team. Minimal qualifications for this position are a Master's degree in Psychology, registration as a Psychologist in NZ and ideally at least five years of post-registration clinical work experience including work with children and families. Experience with, and training in providing clinical supervision are also desirable.

Who You Will Work With

Our passionate team support students to develop clinical knowledge and develop the practical competencies required by the New Zealand Psychologists Board, including academic assessment of standards of student practical work. The programme places a strong emphasis on consideration of strengths and resiliencies as well as challenges and difficulties, all within the context of the child's environment.
