About the Organisation

The Southern DHB has the largest regional coverage of all the New Zealand health boards, providing services to over 315,000 people. We take pride in the services we provide and our aim is to improve, promote and protect the health of our population. Our customers – patients, staff and communities - are at the heart of everything we do.

In order to continue meeting the needs of our community, we are working towards the full implementation of a system that better identifies mismatches between staffing levels and patient needs and facilitates solutions to mitigate the risks associated. Known formally as Care Capacity Demand Management (CCDM), we are on the lookout for a Senior Registered Nurse to spearhead this in a Programme Manager role.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark on health services across the district, through assuring patient safety and satisfaction, supporting staff health and well-being and ultimately maximising organisational efficiency.

About the Role

The CCDM Programme Manager will be a pivotal figure in the coordination, facilitation, planning, communication and support for the ongoing implementation and enhancement of current systems using a ‘whole of systems approach’ in conjunction with a range of key stakeholders. With the overarching goal to improve patient outcomes through the careful matching of staff to patients, there is certainly ample opportunity to make a difference for staff and patients alike.

Objectives include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating and implementing best practice tools and guidelines
  • Developing and sustaining constructive relationships that enhance your connections and ability to influence, by modelling a partnership approach
  • Leading and collaborating on programme development, communication and implementation, and feedback loops to ensure ongoing engagement across the board

About You

Working at a high level with regard to health informatics, we anticipate you’ll be an advanced/expert user, allowing you to collate reports, analyse outcomes and work alongside senior staff to re-engineer rosters as required, however, this role is more than just numbers and data.  It’s as much about your ability to connect, engage and influence multiple stakeholders, from the Clinical units to Governance, as it’s through others that you will achieve positive outcomes.

It goes without saying that you will naturally embody the Southern DHB values of Kind, Open Positive and a sense of Community in all that you do.

About the Region

The Southern District offers the benefits of excellent amenities, first class primary through to tertiary education, affordable housing and outstanding recreational opportunities.  So whether its surfing, kayaking or sailing; skiing, hunting or fishing; theatre, live-music or art – Dunedin offers something for everyone!

What are you waiting for? If this opportunity is up your alley than don’t hesitate in applying, after all, it’s not every day that a role such as this comes around

Closing date:  Sunday, 12th August 2018.
