UniServices' open innovation and world-class thinking has global impacts and as the company continues to grow, the opportunities for learning, professional and personal growth are enormous.

Under the management of Auckland UniServices Ltd, the University of Auckland's Liggins Institute has been conducting the NiPPeR Study over the last 5 years. We are seeking a smart, skilled and flexible Research Assistant to undertake a wide range of tasks crucial to the efficient running of the NiPPeR trial. You will be involved in many aspects of the project primarily supporting research nurses conduct participant clinic visits and related administration, but will also have opportunities to develop your skills further in laboratory work, biobanking, data collection and data cleaning.

This busy and varied role will involve all of the following, and may evolve as the needs of the project change over time, so flexibility is essential:

  • Pre- and post-clinic visit procedures including maintenance of equipment and room preparation
  • Ensure participant visit is a streamlined, relaxed experience, by providing customised, friendly interaction with mothers, babies and toddlers
  • Assist team in bio sample collection, processing of samples and their correct storage
  • Assist team with routine biobanking and scheduled mass biobank extractions
  • Data entry and cleaning
  • Scheduling clinic and home visits for participants, including confirmations and reminders
  • Administrative support

If you have admin experience, good communication skills, laboratory experience, sound computer skills and the ability to work in a diverse multi-disciplinary team, we would welcome your application. Previous experience within clinical trials/research and processing samples would be an advantage.
