We are looking for a Speech-language Therapist to join our thriving team of 14 Speech-Language Therapists who work across paediatric and adult caseloads in acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings at CCDHB. It is a close-knit, supportive and fun team, providing a great work environment for the successful candidate. 

This role sits within the SLT inpatient acute team at Wellington Hospital, you may also be involved in the head and neck SLT service. There are exciting service developments occurring in the inpatient and outpatient teams, including the roll-out of a FEES service. The successful applicant may also be a part of current service development and quality projects. As a team, we work hard and strive to provide an excellent, evidence-based service to our patients. This is a great opportunity to join our team and develop your skills as an SLT while living in the wonderful city of Wellington.

The successful applicant will be required to diagnose and treat patients with a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. The caseload will include acute adult inpatients with both medical and surgical diagnoses. This role also includes up to two days a week of head and neck caseload, and experience in this area is highly desired.

The ideal applicant will have two years experience working with adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, preferably in an acute inpatient setting, and preferably also including experience in the field of head and neck. Experience in managing an outpatient caseload is desireable however not essential.  Applicants with experience in the areas of voice, laryngectomy, VFSS, FEES and/or tracheostomy will be given preference. We are open to considering applicants with less than two years experience so new graduates are welcome to apply.

You will be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, good communication skills, the ability to work independently and to quickly build strong working relationships.  Excellent time management and prioritisation skills are a must.
