As part of the Recreation Facilities team at Tawa Pool you will work as part of a facility team to support a high standard of customer service and facility presentation, while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for customers by responding appropriately.
This position is all about providing great service to all our customers. You will need to be a quick learner, a team player and possess a dynamic personality.
Your daily tasks will include lifeguarding, customer service, cash handling, providing information on the services provided within the facility and maintaining a high level of facility presentation.
Relevant experience and qualifications are desirable, but if you don't have these and can demonstrate you have the energy and personality we are looking for then you should still apply. We are looking for experience communicating with the general public, combined with a strong work ethic to enable you to ensure the safety of people using our facilities.
To be successful you must be able to meet the minimum standards to obtain a Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate. You will need to be able to confidently swim 200 meters within 4 minutes and 30 seconds and be prepared to work weekends and public holidays on a three week rotating roster.
Qualifications you may gain:
- First aid level 2
- Pool Lifeguard Practicing Certificate
- Pre Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC)
- Water Treatment
- NZQA Qualifications through Skills Active
