As we look to increase the tempo of our District Plan review we have a great opportunity for a motivated and self driven Planner to join our dedicated and expanding planning policy team.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and assist with a caseload of projects and processes associated with the preparation of plan changes and review of the District Plan, the implementation of the Land Use Strategy, RMA monitoring and other initiatives to give effect to Council's resource management responsibilities.

The position requires a flexible ‘hands on’ approach to undertaking any planning project that may be required.  You will need to be self-motivated and be able to work independently within a small team, using your initiative appropriately, and have the ability to deal with customers, councillors and staff in a confident manner.  Strong writing and analytical skills are essential. 

A relevant tertiary qualification in planning/resource management is essential, as well as a positive attitude and a passion for planning.
