  • We are looking for a switched on person to provide logistics support
  • This is a temporary position between August 2018 and April 2019

This is a temporary position between August 2018 and April 2019, working on average, 40 hours per week.

 

This role is office based and provides logistic support to the Hokitika Supervisor and field teams for teams conducting fieldwork for monitoring programmes across New Zealand as part of the Department's tiered National Biodiversity Monitoring Programme.

 

This support includes contacting Operations Managers, iwi, landowners and managers e.g. forestry companies to ensure the field teams have the necessary permissions to travel to plots and stay on location. 

 

The work also includes assisting the monitoring supervisor in planning and coordination of logistics and can be required to update field plans at short notice to accommodate changing conditions or staff availability.  The position may also be required at times to act as an afterhours contact for the field teams.

 

There is a significant element of data quality assurance and maintaining information for the field teams and preparing the necessary background information teams need in the field. 

 

You will be part of a national team and may have responsibilities that extend beyond the location where you reside.

 

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory, including a valid work visa covering the whole period of employment if applying internationally.
