The Director of Regional Relationships, Upper North Island reports to the Chief Executive. Their role is to build, enhance and maintain the Transport Agency's presence, performance and reputation in the Upper North Island. This includes engaging with and taking the lead in building senior local government, iwi and other significant and influential community, private and public sector stakeholder relationships.
The role
The purpose of this role is to provide professional and accurate executive level support to the Director by ensuring the smooth running of their office in a timely and confidential manner. Strong communication skills are vital to this role. Proactive and strategic relationship building and management with key stakeholders is paramount. You will be personable and confident and able to build rapport quickly and effective, both with internal staff and those outside the organisation. You'll also get the opportunity to use your strong written communication skills to write briefings, speeches and other official correspondence.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience providing high level support to a GM or Director
- Exceptional organisational, time and diary management skills
- The ability to liaise and communicate and build effective relationships with a range of external and key stakeholders, many at an executive level
- Experience with official correspondence and able to maintain deadlines and work to a high level of accuracy in relation to these
- Social intelligence and the ability to connect at all organisational levels and across different professional fields
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- The ability to make good judgements and quick decisions, and to use your initiative to think proactively to solve problems
