Job Description
This is a position managing a team of three staff (Workshop Administrator, Office Manager, and Office Assistant) at our head office located in Gore – the heart of pristine Southland.
This position reports to the Managing Director and is responsible for the timely and accurate administration of banking and accounting support functions for several entities within the group.
This role will lead a close knit team who tell us they love working there.

The role is busy and diverse and requires a self-motivated person who must be competent in basic accounting and office management processes.
The Person We’re Looking For:-
We’re looking for a professional who can help guide our client’s rapidly growing business to the next level and beyond.
We seek someone who is capable of taking ownership, is prepared to push their point to the management and implement new admin and inventory management systems and controls.
This role would suit an experienced company accountant or senior accounts administrator who has some formal accounting training as well as a good understanding of business strategy.
You’ll need to demonstrate the ability to work highly productively while also managing and positively motivating a small team.
Applicants must have a proven track record of accuracy and efficient time management along with a high level of initiative, drive and integrity.
The essential tasks of the role include ….
• Daily cash flow management and forecasting
• Overseeing Invoicing
• Overseeing Accounts Payable
• Monthly P&L Reporting
• Budgeting and reporting
• Stock control and Stock balancing
• Ad hoc office management and administration tasks
• Assisting with GST / ACC / FBT return preparation
• Reconciliations
• Trial Balances
• Financial Accounting
• Systems and ad hoc project work
Skills and Experience
• A tertiary accounting qualification is preferred but not essential.
• QBE – ‘Qualified By Experience’ is the minimum requirement so candidates need to have a CV which demonstrates significant and relevant NZ commercial accounting support experience.
• Intermediate level Microsoft Excel and MS Word skills are a minimum requirement.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills, as well as excellent numeracy skills are essential.
Salary and Hours
Although this is envisaged as being a full time role , work hours are flexible and the right person may only require 30 hours a week to fulfil the job role.
Salary will be dependent on skill and experience levels.
To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and be legally entitled to work permanently in NZ.
