The Opportunity

Auckland’s water quality is at the forefront of everyone’s mind and we need a champion who will be responsible for providing scientific and technical water quality advice to the Healthy Waters team. You will be the subject matter expert leading the technical components and analytics of the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management (NPS-FM) work stream and will respond to Central Government’s request for reviews and feedback. Working closely with council departments, CCOs, and external stakeholders, you will identify, review and analyse water quality and related data for community monitoring and local board projects. You will represent Healthy Waters in relevant technical conferences and forums.

About you

You are collaborative, innovative and passionate about delivering environmental outcomes that will leave your legacy on Auckland. As an applied freshwater scientist, you have extensive experience in water quality monitoring and technical assessments. You are familiar with the NPS-FM and have a robust understanding of how science supports policy decision-making. You have the natural ability to influence and communicate complex environmental data to better inform decisionmakers and activities in the region. A full driver's license is a requirement.
