Key project management role responsible for the alignment, integration and delivery of the Treasury's Living Standards Framework into everyday public policy

  • Take our ambitious work programme forward and make it come to life
  • Drive transformational change for improving NZ's intergenerational wellbeing
  • Key role responsible for the successful delivery of the LSF Programme

The Treasury is the New Zealand Government's lead economic and financial advisor. Our vision is to be a world-leading Treasury working towards higher living standards for New Zealanders. To achieve this, it requires growing the country's human, social, natural, and financial/physical capitals which together represent New Zealand's economic capital. Our Living Standards Framework (LSF) based on these four capitals considers the collective impact of policies on intergenerational wellbeing.

These are changing times, our LSF is a significant undertaking. The Treasury is at the leading edge as we put theory into action and New Zealand at the forefront of a global shift in economic thinking. Our LSF is accelerating ahead and we have an opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to join our team on an 18 month fixed-term or secondment basis.

Reporting to the Director LSF Programme, you will be responsible for delivering change through the effective co-ordination of the programme's work streams and management of their interdependencies. You will have a unique view of all the projects and you will maintain the overall coherence of the programme through planning, governance, risk & issue management, resourcing and budget management. You will be responsible for monitoring/reporting and have accountability for providing the necessary assurances and controls that a programme of this size and complexity with its inter-reliant work streams are well-connected and are on track and scheduled to deliver.

To be considered for this role, you'll be an accomplished Programme Manager, an intellectual leader, a natural collaborator and a strategic influencer. You will have previous experience in leading large scale change programmes and you will be capable of creating and maintaining a programme environment that allows project change to thrive and for realisation of benefits to be achieved.

You will be comfortable managing ambiguity and enjoy working in a complex and demanding environment where success is achieved through driving outcomes and delivering results through a team. You will drive collaboration, partner effectively and support our people to perform at their highest level.

The Treasury values diversity amongst its employees and encourages a positive work/non-work balance with flexible work arrangements.

Applications close - Monday 23 July. All applications must be made online.
