The Market Services team empowers and enables the technology solutions which are key to the way the Ministry delivers its services to the public. We are a high performing team delivering high impact outcomes.
We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Project Manager based in our Stout Street office, Wellington.
Your Technical Background
Our Project Management Capability sets the standard by which we deliver. The influence across all our teams is vast, and with this ability to have influence we expect the successful candidate to drive delivery of the highest standard for our business owners, and the wider Ministry.
We are a diverse environment, as such having exposure to a large variety of projects, technologies and frameworks is an absolute must. Our projects are fast moving and are frequently providing critical services to the wider Ministry therefore you will need to have knowledge and experience to apply freely, add value and move us toward successful outcomes quickly and efficiently.

Your Commercial and Communication Skills
We are looking for an extensive track record in delivery within Central Government, coupled with Vendor Management skills in order to deliver great outcomes. Constant communication, the ability to cut through the noise and get to the critical issues will be key to your success in this role.
The Senior PM is part of a well balanced and supportive team, you will have peers and colleagues to help you integrate to MBIE, and in turn you will be expected to share your knowledge when appropriate. Your work load will be constant and varied, and you will need to be able to keep pace with both the volume, and at time pressures, of a high performing team.

Mandatory Requirements
- 10+ years' Experience in Project Delivery Roles
- Tertiary Qualification
- A Commitment to Ongoing Professional Development
- Previous Experience in Central Government
- You must have the right to work in NZ
