About the Role
Working in Mangawhai, we have an exciting opportunity for a talented Monitoring & Compliance Officer to join our Resource Management Monitoring & Compliance team. The main focus of this role involves monitoring and enforcing compliance with the Resource Management Act 1991, Local Government Act 1974 and 2002, Health Act 1956, Kaipara General Bylaws 2008, Wastewater Bylaw 2009 and the Litter Act 1979. You will also:
- Collaborate with members of staff, members of the public and external stakeholders to facilitate the smooth operation of council
- Monitor all regulatory functions assigned to you to ensure that appropriate deadlines and targets are met.
- Monitor resource consent applications to identify those with conditions that require monitoring are completed to ensure that full compliance is met
- Investigate internal and external reports for any possible breaches of the concerned Bylaws, Acts and district plan.
About You
You are an enthusiastic and passionate person who has:
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- A minimum of five years' experience in Local Government
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and political neutrality.
- Effective time management and a proven ability to work to deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication including report-writing
- Meticulous attention to detail
