The Role: What This Opportunity's All About

Enjoy the excitement in one of our fast paced surgical wards!!

The team in Ward 17 at Christchurch Hospital enjoy working in a busy general surgical unit with a focus on colorectal surgery. No two days are the same here in this fast paced team that focus on peri-operative care and recovery.

We're looking for a Registered Nurse to join us who is passionate about surgery and who is keen to move their career forward. Working in our large multidisciplinary team you can expect to work closely with and learn from our Surgeons, our Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, who are all experts in their specialties and who are focused on advances in surgical care that improve clinical outcomes. In turn you will bring your exceptional interpersonal skills and organisational skills and will be a real team player. You'll be committed to professional development and enjoy the satisfaction that comes from delivering quality patient care.

Ward 17 is also a Dedicated Education Unit where you'll enjoy being involved in the development of student nurses.

Working:

• 0.9FTE
• Rotating roster to cover service needs

Skills and Experience:

• Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and APC
• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
• Excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
• The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
• Recent acute surgical or medical experience is preferred for this position
